Wow, what an event (capital 'E')! I planned to come, but at the last minute, we decided to head out to the desert, so I could visit my oasis.
Richard Dreyfus hardly looks like I remember him. But the exhuberant author next to him looks beautiful -- and very happy. I'm glad your day turned out so well.
oh boy, I could use some desert right now. The May Gray is the pits.
What a terrific event, Mary! I wish I weren't thousands of miles away! And that cake is beautiful (did it taste good, too?).
Yes, it was delicious! : ) Thanks, Annemarie!
That looks like a lovely time! Ooo, and what an awesome cake! *g* getting a book published is like having a new baby, in a way, isn't it?
Yes, much like having a baby--except the pregnancy lasts for YEARS!
I love your plays on words....you are so clever. What a fun day that was! Congratulations on a spectacular signing. You never know.....maybe Richard will want to be in the movie afterall.....LOL.

Dude! Richard Dreyfuss! That is so cool! And the cake is lovely too.
MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Cake.
Richard was probably excited to be at YOUR book signing. Janet
A seriously cool book launch, Mary! And that butterfuly cake looks beautiful.
What a fun coincidence. An my I just say, you were MUCH better dressed.
Great pics! Congrats, Mary. And you do look adorable! (so does RD)
Hooray you! Looked like a wonderful event, no surprise! Can't wait to have you sign a book for me (soon)! (And wooHOO on Mr. Dreyfus!) See you soon Cheesecake Pal!
That is such a fantastic cake. Me has craving now... Okay, so your cake's nice to look at it, but at the end of the day it's all about eating (for me) ;-)
Thanks for sharing, and have a lovely day! :-)
I loved this post:
A) Because I thoroughly enjoyed your book, and I'm happy to see your launch went well, and B) I have had a terrible crush on Richard Dreyfuss since I was about 16.
Thanks, Kate. And I have always liked Richard Dreyfuss too. I loved his tv series, The Education of Max Bickford--one of the smartest series written and I was sad to see it end. And Mr. Holland's Opus . . . sigh . . . love that. He is an amazing actor.
It must have felt awesome to have a launch for a book that has already generated so much buzz. Congratulations. I think this is going to be a magical year for you.
Wow! (on all counts)
