My husband is from Laos and he watched that segment with love and longing. He escaped from there as a boy and has never been back. Shameless plug warning: his escape and time spent in a Thai refugee camp is the subject of my first MG novel that sold to HC last Dec.
And yay for Lisa x 2! She taught a writing for kids class at a jr. college for only one semester I believe, and I was lucky enough to get in that. I read today that she sold another novel, so yay again!
Congratulations on your first book! Your husband must be very proud. From what I saw, Laos is a beautiful country.
And lucky you to get her on her one teaching semester!
Okay...just read the interview...wonderful! So happy your daughters are healthy and have promised to stop inspiring you.
Matt is sitting right here, next to me, as I type this. And I am in Southern California.
Now THAT is what I call a clue. Thanks, Lisa!
Congrats on you "nym"-ness.
Congrats also to your friend. The William Allen White Award is voted on by kids so that makes the recognition all the more special. Tammi, Kansas resident 1972-1997
Just fyi, I bought JENNA FOX at a bookstore near my office, and turned the other copies out...and when I went back today they were totally sold out.
You are the awesome. :)
you have me smiling from ear to ear. Thank you for the report, AND for the turn out : ) I hope you enjoy JENNA!
